Vehicle Pollution Damages Brain: Study Reveals

An experiment made on mice has revealed that vehicular emissions and noise can severely affect the brain in the form of Alzheimer and memory loss. The toxin that causes is not any exhaust gas rather a mix of particles from burning of fuel and weathering (aging) of car parts. The scientists reproduced such toxin in laboratory and tested it on mice who showed the damages to the functioning mentioned below: Neurons involved in learning and memory The brain showed signs of inflammation associated with premature aging and Alzheimer’s disease, Growth of neurons Furthermore it was found that these particles were too small to be captured by car’s emission control systems and they were directly released into the atmosphere. Scientists are now planning to study the effects of this toxin on human beings and ponder ways to reduce exposure to such small particles.
