New iPhone Technology Prevents Capturing Live Events

Apple, the developer of iPhone is considering inclusion of a new technology that prevents capturing the live events such as concerts and sporting events to protect the rights of organisers of these events. The technology introduces a system in the phone that detects when an individual is trying to record clip or take images at the event and automatically shuts down the recording mode of the phone.

The phone works by triggering the infra-red sensors installed at the venue which detect the presence of phone and instruct the device to disable recording and image capturing mode.

This technology will help the marketing efforts of organisers of such events who have to face the frustration of seeing the movies of their events broadcast for free on Youtube and other video sharing sites.

According to Times, Apple had filed the patent for this technology 18 months ago but the details came public only recently. In case Apple decides to implement this technology, it would be implemented in next iPhone that is scheduled for launch in September 2011.
